The countdown to summer begins!

The sun is shining, the sky is clear blue and life is good… imagine it’s summer already and you’re about to go on holiday, run a race or buy a wedding outfit… do you wish you’d have achieved a little more with your training over spring?  Don’t daydream in summer about looking and feeling your best, instead make it happen by starting a plan to success NOW!

Although the clocks go back on the 28th March, the season summer doesn’t start till around June 21st. This gives you 12 weeks to make the difference you need to achieve the changes you want. Think about where you’d like to be in 12 weeks and make it happen by working hard one week at a time. Forget instant results and become a sum of every week’s effort, ensuring you do something better each and every week. Can you add a little distance on to your run, can you lift an extra couple of reps on your weights, can you hold back on the extra bottle of wine at the weekend?!! Every change you make will eventually and ensure you’re not daydreaming in summer about what could have been! Good luck.

The sites enable you to plot your route wherever you go with just a few mouse clicks. Once your route is complete you can establish it’s distance, time of completion and compare it with other routes. A great resource.

New trainer joins STAR team

John training

John heads up the STAR Health and Performance trainer team and is a very accomplished coach with over 15 years experience. John has exceptional motivational and communication skills, he will get you excited about achieving your goals. His extensive range of fitness qualifications is also a very experienced and highly qualified Football Coach. Whether you are exercising for the first time or an athlete preparing for competition, John has the knowledge and expertise to help you. He will assess your needs, listen to your aims and help design you the optimal workout. With you every step of the way, he could save you years of frustration and wasted effort.

Supporting the British Sailing Team

Britsh Sailing Team
The British Sailing Team sets sail for Majorca this month to take part in the next ISAF Sailing World Cup event, the princess Sofia Regatta. The team will be aiming to add medals to the tally that already makes them the leading sailing nation. As the team’s Strength and Conditioning Coach, Steve will join the team to provide support at their training camp prior to the event. Bootcamp Team have a dirty weekend!

Bootcamping for Sports Relief

Big congratulations to the STAR Bootcamp Team who successfully completed the army assault course that featured on this year’s Sport Relief. The team were literally up to their necks in mud and freezing cold water as they tested their strength, stamina and team spirit in some extreme and soggy conditions. After some fun warm-up routines the team had to complete a trial that included woodland running, rope swings, river bed walks, mud slides and other obstacles. The activity was in stark contrast to the usual STAR Bootcamp meeting place at West Park, Aldwick!
